Licence#

Hyvop is proprietary software. The Community edition is free to use. The source code is not published.

An install is the Community Edition unless it holds a verified licence key. Core decides what an install may do from one table of entitlements, and the UI asks core and keeps no copy. Nothing in the chart or in an environment variable unlocks a feature.

This page extends Editions in the Community guide.

Where the key goes in the chart#

The chart's schema has two values that concern the edition:

Value Type Default Note
license.key string not set The licence key
global.edition string: community or enterprise not set Listed in the schema

Both are listed in Configuration.

Getting a key#

The licence is agreed with Hyvop, and the steps for your install are given with it. To ask, see support.md.

What a licence changes#

Entitlements, as listed on What Enterprise adds. To see what your install may do now, open the entitlements the UI shows.

When the licence ends#

Switching an integration off is always allowed, so an install whose licence ended can stop what it can no longer use.

Upgrading from an older chart#

Upgrading from an older chart enforces the Community limits at the first start unless the install holds a verified licence key: see Upgrade, "What the first release changes".
